CAPD was founded in 1989 by CEO Alan Margolis and is the largest
independent, non-profit personal and professional development
organisation in the UK. Its goal is to promote best practice and raise
the awareness, standards and professionalism of training and learning
development across UK & Europe while providing value added benefits
to its members.
CAPD members come from a wide range of
companies/organisations such as The Office of Fair Trading, Government
Office London, Reuters, The Guide Association, Friends Provident,
British Bankers’ Association, The Valuation Office, BMW, Consumer Focus,
Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, The Arts, Government departments, Finance,

CAPD MEMBERSHIP AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The CAPD membership comprises of specially invited individuals, representing over 350+ organisations, who are involved in people and organisational development and who wish to promote both their professional and personal development. CAPD members cover all sectors and ranges of interests including human resource development, management, consultancy, research and education. Members include Training and Personnel Directors, HR Consultants, L&D specialists, Team Leaders and others interested in increasing their skills and knowledge.
